Bad Makeup At 'Conviction' Premier

There were a couple of very questionable looks at the Conviction Los Angeles premier last night. I'm all for blue and turquoise eyeliners, but one should know how to use them. Hilary Swank might be wearing Nars Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Paladium, which I quite like. In moderation. Whoever did Hilary's makeup used so much color there (most likely to match her dress and clutch) it's actually overpowering her eyes. And also forgot to blend.

Then we have Juliette Lewis in bizarre pink. I don't really think of Juliette as a pink person, and that lip gloss is just hideous on her. It might be an ironic look, I can't tell. It makes Juliette look like a cartoon version of herself.

I love Minnie Driver and almost like her look here. I wish she had more color on her lips, though. There's something a little dead there that washes her out. But she possesses a natural elegance that makes just about anything look better.

Questionable Hairstyles- 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony

The 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony signals another season of red carpet events, gowns and makeup. And also some interesting hairstyles. Zooey Deschanel had a big black bow in her hair, matching the black bow on her pink dress that I guess goes with the doll-like eyelashes. I had to check and verify it was not a Halloween party, because Zooey's look was bordering on a costume.

Marisa Tomei, on the other hand, forgot to do her hair. The dress was in questionable taste, too.

Hilary Swank did the retro thing we've been seeing on some famous heads lately. I'm not sure displaying that much forehead was the best idea ever.

White denim. I love it, even if not necessarily the way Kate Moss wears it. I like to pair slim white jeans with a colorful DVF wrap top and cute sandals. I think Hilary Swank pulls it off perfectly.




Red lipstick. The tricky part is choosing the right red for you. Do you think Angelina and Rihanna got it right?


Little dresses in bright colors. Nothing says "summer" like a yellow dress.

I like strappy sandals, I like platforms. Not so sure about these bondage gear, especially the way Beyonce paired it with awful denim shorts, and Rumer Willis' black manicure is just a bit too much. The last pair was seen on Evangeline Lilly in Cannes. A little different and not half bad.
