Jessica Simpson Wearing A Victoria Beckham Dress

And it shows.

The dresses from Victoria Beckham's line are quite nice, but many of them seem to be designed and tailored for Posh's own body type. Jessica is beautiful from her collarbone up, but her poor boobs don't seem all that happy to be squished like that. The apron thing on the lower half was not a good idea, either.

The sky at your fingertips

Cheerful colors are everywhere this season. Blue and green nail polish have mostly become a mainstream fashion option rather than a way to make your mother sigh. The current shades are more Crayola box happy and less gothic drama . Later today I'll show you the newest collection from Zoya, but for now- here's Jessica Simpson and her sky blue nails.

Jessica Simpson In NYC

Here's Jessica Simpson earlier today in NYC. This is a new look for her- sophisticated eye makeup and a bold lip color- and it works beautifully. She's such a pretty young woman who also seems genuinely nice. I hope she can do a similar makeover to her career. And love life.

Jessica Simpson- Fresh Face, Green Nails

I've always wanted to give Jessica Simpson a makeover (and a reading list) and do away with the heavy black eyeliner. This photo of Jessica with little-to-no makeup shows I was probably right. She looks vulnerable, approachable and prettier than we've seen her lately. While her face is fresh and bare, look at her holiday green manicure. I rarely wear green polish, but I like this color. The photo isn't clear enough to tell for sure, but I'd attempt a guess that it could be Recycle from Rescue Beauty Lounge.

Hanging Out

Maybe I'm simply too old fashioned. Or maybe I've been watching too much Mad Men. It's not that I'd ever want to live in 1960s undergarments, but one can't deny they did wonders for women's figures, unlike what we've been seen lately.

When I first saw the paparazzi photos of Gwyneth Paltrow at the airport, I thought it might be a case of a frumpy camisole under some beachwear (and getting dressed in the dark). But pictures taken from the back show that the flesh-colored thing is a bra. Classy.

Blake Lively has skipped the bra altogether. Closeup photos made this absolutely clear. Classier.

And putting Jessica Simpson on a catwalk with no support was an interesting decision. She was modeling for Ozlem Suer in Paris and looked very cute- I definitely prefer High-Fashion Jessica to Country Bumpkin Jess. But a low-plunge bra or some fashion tape would have done her a world of good.

Blondes In Braids

It would be horribly unfair to even ask who pulls this hairstyle better, Drew Barrymore or Jessica Simpson. Poor Jess doesn't have a chance, especially with this dress (and I'm not sure bright orange is her best color). But it's worth taking a moment to look at the pictures, even if only to note that both Drew and Jessica sported this (more labor-intensive version of) milkmaid braids (and Drew looks lovely).

This style is utterly not my thing, but I always envied the girls who could pull it off. However, that was in junior high. I'm not sure how I feel about it nowadays.

Two More Reasons To Avoid Louis Vuitton Bags

Seriously.

Just like most of us, I like exquisitely made hand bags and own a couple. But I can't be the only one who thinks anything with such a huge flashy logo is nothing but tacky. Add to that the particular celebs who seem to favor these, and you get something that is never making it into my wish list.

They makes me want to go on an Etsy shopping spree.
